HBF Run for a Reason

HBF Run for a Reason is WA’s largest annual fundraising challenge, having raised more than $14 million for hundreds of charities since 2010.

In 2025 alone, the community rallied like never before: 40,000 people took part, every distance sold out, and a record breaking $2 million was raised for community causes. 

Because participants choose to fundraise for a cause that matters to them, charities are supported by people who are genuinely passionate - leading to stronger engagement, more compelling stories, and better fundraising results.

How to set up a fundraising page in HBF Run for a Reason

Creating a fundraising page in HBF Run for a Reason is easy! While there are a few different ways to set up a page, we’ve provided best practice instructions for all beneficiary charities below. 

Step 1: As a connected charity, direct your supporters to your HBF Run for a Reason Campaign Page so they can sign up via your unique Register Now button that will preselect your charity during the event’s official registration process.

Step 2: When your supporter completes the registration process, we will create their fundraising page and send them an email with a link to claim it.

Step 3: Once claimed, your supporter can customise their page before sharing it with their network and asking for support.

Fundraiser Communications

Grassrootz sends a best-practice communications journey to all HBF Run for a Reason fundraisers to help activate them post sign-up and promote key incentives. These communications are event-branded by default, but you can opt to create your own charity-branded journey for an additional cost.
